Saw your Linkdin post. TFP means Time for Prints and TPCd means Time for a CD of photos. Models often use this with a photographer, myself included to help build portfolios. It’s a tool to help both beginning models and photographers. Best of luck with your endeavor.Lee Hancock, photographer retired and return to amateur status looking for models, TFCD

Hi Faizan! There is room in the modeling world for people of ANY financial status. It is important to educate yourself on the things a model SHOULD pay for, as well as the things a model should NEVER pay for. We here at ModelMentors have tons of advice to offer regarding these very topics. Make sure to subscribe to our Monthly Newsletter to keep updated on all of our new posts, articles, content, features, and more!

I understand the first step in becoming a model is to create a portfolio, what should the portfolio contain and can you recommend a photographer. I’m I’m the bay area, northern California.

At school we have this project called an I-search. And basically it’s helping us figure out the career we would like to pursue. All my life I’ve wanted to be a model and I just wanted to know, what are the requirements for being a model? And what type of training and education do i have to have to pursue this dream of mine?

hello,

I need urgent help !
I found your website very helpful. here is the thing, I have my comp and file published in the Modelscom website. I was contacted by this photographer that (sounds) reliable. He says he has a project with client and will pay a significant amount of money (2 thousand) to shoot for 12 different outfits from his client’s boutique. I asked him about his website.. he didn’t send me the link, I asked about the client he mentioned a common name, when I googled sorts of fashion/photography businesses come up, and he gave me the client’s name, which is a bit suspicious .. like Monalisa Walters.. when I google.. just comes up about the famous Monalisa pictures.. so.. does this sound like a scam ? – Thank you !

Hmmm. Yes, that definitely sounds a bit suspicious. A photographer should do everything in their power to provide you with the information and details of the job, NOT dance around the subject! If he can’t even reply with a link to his website, but can reply to other questions, that is not a good sign. He might be legit, but his poor communication makes it much harder to verify that he IS legit. I would say ask one more time; be firm, and if he is still giving you the run-around, just write him off and move on. It is not worth the headache, or putting your safety at risk!
